Half-Price Qantas Club Offer (October 2022)

For a limited time, Qantas is offering a 50% discount off 1-year Qantas Club memberships – both for new members and on renewals.

From 11-17 October 2022, you can get half-price Qantas Club when signing up for a new 1-year individual membership or renewing your existing membership for a year. This discount is available on the Qantas website or by calling the Qantas Frequent Flyer Service Centre.

With this offer, you could sign up as a new Qantas Club member for one year at a cost of $399 (normally $699). That comprises of a $99 joining fee for new members, which is not being discounted, and a $300 annual fee which has been reduced from $600.

As it happens, $399 is also exactly the cost of a 1-year Virgin Australia Lounge membership. Arguably, this makes Qantas Club membership a much more attractive proposition because this comes with access to significantly more lounges across Australia and around the world.

If you’re an existing Qantas Club member, you can renew for another year by 17 October 2022 at a cost of just $270 (normally $540 for 1-year renewals). It is possible to renew before your current membership expires, and the additional year of membership will simply be added to the length of your existing subscription.

You can also get half-price Qantas Club during this promotion when purchasing or renewing membership using Qantas Frequent Flyer points. The cost would be 62,500 Qantas points for a new 1-year membership (including the joining fee) or 39,000 Qantas points for a renewal.

This offer only applies to individual Qantas Club memberships, and is unfortunately not available on group or corporate scheme memberships. There is also no discount available off 2 or 4 year memberships with this promotion.

Qantas previously ran an offer of 50% off selected Qantas Club memberships in April 2022.

An interesting notice has been added to the top of the Qantas Club webpage:

50% off Qantas Club Individual one year membership offer commences Tuesday 11 October 2022.

I guess this means there's a sale starting next week?

Will this flow down to the AFF gold supporter discount?

We'll have to wait and see the terms of the offer once it goes live next Tuesday, but generally corporate schemes and renewals are excluded.

Just renewed via this offer and it hasn't actually extended my club membership by the year. My receipt even has my original club expiry date. Off to play the contact centre merry-go-round to fix the mistake.

I'm currently Gold, I logged in to see if it'd let me purchase this however claims I already have a membership (I've never paid for one although did receive the trial one before gold through the status match) and to head to the renew page. On the renew page it then claims I can renew for $270.

Does anyone know what'd happen when I do this? I was under the impression that QF Club memberships are put on hold when you hold Gold or above status so does that mean if I pay the $270 I'd get QF club for a year once I drop from Gold?

well, the East Coast deal is on-going

theres a ordinary Deal until 18th October which is nothing special. Prices from my city are just the “normal“ Red-E deal....

Most likely.

As a lowly Gold I for one despise this move by QF. The QF Clubs are crowded enough as it is with fellow Gold members and any Tom, Dick n' Harry with a guest pass from a credit card or apology handkerchief from Uncle Alan. The last thing we need are "influencers" entering the lounge thanks to this cheapo membership! This is to say nothing of those airports which don't have a separate QF Club and QF Business lounge to segregate folks by status/class of travel (I'm looking at you CNS and HBA!).
