Big Changes to Accor Plus Membership

Accor is making some major changes to its Accor Plus subscription program from 1 October 2025, which it will also rename to “ALL Accor+ Explorer”. If you’re an existing member, you’ll be automatically moved across to the new program unless you decide to cancel your membership.

Accor Plus Explorer membership comes with numerous advantages including a free annual hotel night and discounts on dining at eligible Accor properties. These benefits are available in around 22 countries in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia and New Zealand.

While this membership currently costs $399 per year, the price will reduce to $349 annually from 1 October 2025. Membership is complimentary for American Express Platinum cardholders.

If you stay regularly at Accor hotels in the Asia Pacific region, an Accor Plus subscription program could save you money and offer additional benefits. Accor brands include Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, Pullman, Mantra and Ibis.

This guide explains highlights the benefits of Accor Plus, and whether it’s worth it.

Overview of current Accor Plus benefits

Until 30 September 2025, you can get the following benefits when joining Accor Plus…

Dining discounts

Accor Plus members enjoy up to 50% off food when dining at Accor hotels throughout the Asia Pacific. There are different tiers of discount depending on how many people are dining (including the member):

  • One person gets 25% off the bill
  • Two people get 50% off the entire bill
  • Three people get 33% off the entire bill
  • Four people get 25% off the entire bill

For parties larger than four, divide 100% by the number of diners to calculate the Accor Plus discount. For example, you get 20% off the bill if there are five people.

Members also get 15% off drinks in Asia.

You don’t have to be staying at the hotel to access the discount. You just need to show your Accor Plus membership card before getting the bill.

Unfortunately, there are exceptions. Some hotel restaurants don’t provide the dining discount. A full list of excluded hotels is available on the Accor website.

Get a complimentary annual hotel night

One of the key benefits of Accor Plus is the annual “Stay Plus” certificate. You can redeem this for a complimentary night each year at participating hotels in Asia Pacific.

You can use Stay Plus for standard rooms (without extra payment) or premium rooms (with a cash co-payment). This is great for confirming a higher-category room, which you can’t often do online with other hotel free-night certificates.

As there’s no specific value attached, you’re much better off using Stay Plus certificates for expensive stays. This ensures you get more value out of your certificate.

However, hotels can limit the number of Stay Plus nights available. So, you won’t necessarily be able to use your certificate to book any night at any hotel. The AFF forum has a thread discussing the availability of Stay Plus nights.

Discounted hotel nights with Red Hot Rooms

Additionally, Accor Plus provides access to exclusive “Red Hot Rooms” deals. With these offers, members can book rooms at significantly reduced rates.

Accor publishes a list on their website of current Red Hot Rooms. You’ll usually find more deals when booking with about 1-2 months of your stay.

The discounts on Red Hot Rooms are substantial, with up to 50% off in certain locations. The hotels offered vary, but you can often find high-end hotels with heavily discounted rooms.

The rooms offered under the promotion aren’t necessarily the base options, either. For example, the Pullman Singapore Orchard offer above is actually for the Deluxe Superior Room, rather than the base level Classic room.

You’ll also get up to an extra 10% off the discounted member rate when booking other Accor hotels.

Get 20 bonus status nights towards your Accor Live Limitless tier

Since August 2023, Accor Plus members also get a bonus of 20 Status Nights each year with the Accor Live Limitless (ALL) program. That’s enough for guaranteed Accor Live Limitless Silver status, which normally requires 10 Status Nights or a spend of €800 per year.

The bonus Status Nights also give you a solid fast-track towards reaching Gold status, which requires 30 Status Nights annually. This means you can get ALL Gold status by staying just 10 nights per year in Accor hotels.

The benefits of ALL Silver status aren’t exactly groundbreaking, but do include some niceties like late check-out and a welcome drink when staying at any Accor-affiliated hotel (including at some brands and in some countries that don’t participate in Accor Plus).

Other benefits

Members can also get early access to certain events and experiences.

A full list of benefits is available on the Accor Plus website.

What’s changing on 1 October 2025?

Starting from 1 October 2025, Accor will launch ALL Accor+ Explorer with the following changes:

  • Instead of one “Stay Plus Free Night” each year, you’ll get two “buy one night, get one free” stays each year
  • The tiered dining discount (currently based on the number of people in the group) will become a flat 30% discount on food and 15% discount for groups up to 10 people. Groups of 11-20 people will get 10% off food and drinks.
  • Get 15% off the best available public rate on hotel rooms (not combinable with promotional rates)
  • Get 30 bonus status nights each year, up from the current 20 nights and enough to get guaranteed ALL Gold status

There are no changes to Red Hot Rooms.

Overall, these are relatively neutral changes. The requirement to buy a second night to use the free night is a bit of a pain, but the extra “free” night makes up for this. Some AFF members will also value the extra 10 bonus status nights each year. And the changes are accompanied by a small reduction in the annual fee.

Not every Accor property participates in Accor Plus. You can see the list of excluded properties on the Accor website where you won’t get to use your benefits like the dining discount or Stay Plus certificate.

Is Accor Plus worth joining?

Many Australian frequent flyers believe Accor Plus is worthwhile, particularly for the annual free hotel nights, room discounts and dining discounts. Depending on where you redeem the free night, the value of that benefit alone could cover much of the $399 annual subscription.

But, as with any subscription, it’s only good value if you actually use the benefits. You would need to be staying at least semi-regularly at Accor hotels in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and/or the Pacific Islands to maximise the benefits and discounts.

For example, if you don’t often eat in hotel restaurants, the dining discount might not give you any benefits. But if you’re a pretty flexible traveller, you could make great use of Red Hot Rooms and the Stay Plus certificate – getting you excellent value for the membership fee.

How to get complimentary Accor Plus membership

For Amex Platinum cardholders, complimentary Accor Plus membership is a popular benefit since it was introduced in 2018 – not least for the free hotel night. This also comes with the standard benefits, including the bonus status nights, room and dining discounts.

Looks like an announcement will be made today regarding changes to the program. From what I can gather the dining discount will become a flat 30% and the free night will be subject to a 2 night stay. Comes into effect October 1.

This will be fun over on the A+ Fb group 🤓🍿

I already thought the free night was subject to a 2 night stay, at least IME can never find free nights when looking for just 1 night on a weekend, but as soon as you search for 2 nights, no issue finding free + paid (and they always apply the free night to the cheaper of the 2 nights).

Then again i refuse to use the free night for any booking where it doesnt fully recoup the annual fee.

Currently it’s not a requirement but personally don’t have an issue with that changing

Well, they're not too bad actually.

  • The 15% off drinks gets extended to all Accor hotels in Asia/Pacific rather than Asia only.
  • 10% off hotels in Asia/Pacific changed to 15% off worldwide (but can no longer be combined with 5% ALL discount).
  • 20 status nights changed to 30 status nights (ie. automatic Gold rather than automatic Silver)..
  • 1 free night in Asia/Pacific changed to 2 free nights for stays of 2 nights or more (but with a caveat that it may not apply to all Explorer memberships ... waiting to see if it applies to those whose membership is through AmEx Platinum).
  • Dining discount becomes a flat 30%.

Particularly if there are now 2 free nights instead of 1 (and it is currently an "if"), that's an overall positive set of changes in my book. Hopefully I'm not missing something bad.

Post now edited. All the changes are in the right hand column below. For me, the changes are still slightly positive overall.

Overall I'd say neutral to a slight plus for me.
I generally used Stay Plus on multinights anyway, so having two is an improvement
Lose out a bit on the dining discount, but gain on the beverages.
