Further to this, Qantas Wine normally have a referral offer but I understand it is currently suspended as they have an offer of 5,000 points for new members who spend $99.

I think this is for those who join over the phone.

Don't get too down about it. Whilst there are some nice wines in that dozen, several of them pop up in deals all over the place following a "high-RRP but constantly on sale" model that allows companies like Qantas Wines to advertise this dozen as "70% off".
 
Reschke RSR Cab offered for sale by Qantas wine, better than VM offer recently.
I have enjoyed RSR better than Bos or Bull trader.
You also get 5000 points for first purchase - Another bonus. Shipping is $8 for 6 or 12 wines.

Plus another 500 points if you're green tier (it gets you a green leaf for next year too).

(I got this dozen when the triple points deal was on and used my $50 PC voucher - it yielded 28,370 points all up. Not bad for $430 - and the wine's pretty good too. I can't find much about the wine itself though. Perhaps a cancelled export order?)
 
With the 10% PCP discount plus a $50 Wine voucher its down to $382.00 for the dozen and 25,146 points.

Just got off the phone with Qantas wine and bought 20 bottles of this sucker for $1900 for a total of 120,700 points (100,000 bonus QFF points + 5,700 as a Qantas Wine Premium members + 15,000 bonus point offer over the phone). With several classic award bookings coming up later this month and my program year just beginning the question remains, will I earn Points Club status this year?
