Led to a heavy landing and blowing out a few tires.Article in the Australian today saying that the pilots received an alert about a potential hydraulics issue shortly after takeoff and returned to SIN where ther aircraft is awaiting inspection
Well, if they wouldn't bake any redundancy planning into their operating model, this is what can happen...Friend telling me that VH-OQH is still stuck at Changi this morning. This is going to be an expensive heavy landing.
Which made me wonder, how many QF A380s are actually in service atm?Well, if they wouldn't bake any redundancy planning into their operating model, this is what can happen...
According to AirFleets.netWhich made me wonder, how many QF A380s are actually in service atm?

- VH-OQE: Retired and scrapped?

- VH-OQJ: Yes, currently doing QF1 SIN to LHR
- VH-OQK: No, in AUH for refurbishing
- VH-OQL: No, in AUH for refurbishing
OQC was the one mentioned as having bad corrosion of the wing spars - if they have spent the money to repair it and are about to get it back into service then that is a slightly positive sign.Only OQE & OQF have been scrapped.
OQL is being refurbished
OQD & OQK are in for maintenance
OQC has been refurbished & is due back to service hopefully soon
OQH is being ferried back to SYD as QF6016Friend telling me that VH-OQH is still stuck at Changi this morning. This is going to be an expensive heavy landing.

Looks like it's on its way from SIN to LHR as QF1Is OQG still at LAX?
Cheers - must have found its mojo again.Looks like it's on its way from SIN to LHR as QF1
It didn't stay long in SYD before operating the delayed QF11 last nightOQH is being ferried back to SYD as QF6016
The idea of using A380's to Joburg is nuts when they haven't got QF1/2 and QF11/12 running reliably. It is pretty obvious that QF need all ten A380s to operate six planes without cancellations. They should have a spare in the US , one in London, one in Singapore and one in Australia.
They wrote the value of these old planes down way too late.
QF is trashing their reputation as a reliable carrier with all these delays and cancellations.
Fixed thatQFis trashinghas trashed their reputation as a reliable carrier with all these delays and cancellations.
I suspect the start of that schedule coincides with a couple of aircraft returning from AUH.The idea of using A380's to Joburg is nuts
Pre-Joyce, you often saw aircraft in the air.I suspect the start of that schedule coincides with a couple of aircraft returning from AUH.
Pre-Covid you generally saw only one aircraft in for major maintenance, and often none over the Xmas period.
