7 night hotel certificate - can I book in family member's name

I have several certs I have obtained from travel packages, and will probably struggle to use them (even with the one year extension option).

I am wanting to use one for my parents accommodation in New York later this year. Does anyone know if I can use my certificate to book a hotel room for them?

Note that I am simply wanting to book the room for specific dates in their name, not transfer over / gift the 7 night certificate.
