A cruel offer of double status credits

I received a targeted Virgin double status credit offer to maintain Gold. The only problem is that I need to book prior to Sep 30th and fly by Dec 14th 2019. Considering that I already have 10 international sectors already booked in that time frame, there is actually no free dates to use the offer. Is this a cruel twist of fate or are these targeted offers more prevalent as you rise through the tiers in your experience?

I guess one option is to cancel one ormore of your existing booked trips and re-book according to the promotion conditions to get the bonus. Of course this may incur cancellation penalties, affter5 availability etc. so be careful.

Indeed, I have enough and more flights booked to requalify for gold in the first few months of my renewal year. I am very grateful for having received the offer of double status from Virgin. I do love Virgin and Velocity. I have a few more flights planned for the first half of next year but not booked yet. Being able to get double status would have enabled be to get to the next level. Being only my first year of gold, it took me a while to be able to take as many flights as I do and never had any targeted offers previously. Not sure how common the offers were. By your indication it appears not so often. Thanks for your reply.

No worries. Of course if you get enough you may well be able to gift Gold, which I have done on three occasions. These days I have strategise very carefully to stay at Plat, I really don't have any domestic flying going on. Lot of hard yards in the early days, 20 SCs at a time.
