Adelaide premium screening for whole group?

I'm flying soon with my family out of Adelaide. I've got gold status so would normally go through the premium screening lane.
What's appropriate when travelling with others who don't have status? Does my status let the group through premium screening, or does having someone in the group without status mean we all go the slow way?

How many people in the group?
If 1 or 2 people with you, then I'd say ok. But if you're 'taking the p155' with a large group I'd be really annoyed being delayed.

Especially if they're not ready to go through quickly and delay others.

They were running amok a week or so ago in the premium lane. Just about had to strip MrP because they didn't like that tiny metal catch in his suit pants that holds men's pants up! Then an explosives check, ok that's ok, but then he had to run his hands across that nasty little metal catch and be wanded over again. Luckily I wasn't with him. Not happy Jan.

I reckon they target the premium line to be honest.

Yes. We've never been asked to prove anything. It's the security scanner people that get us.

Yes, in ADL, there’s always either of two big guys who wear dark suits and one always wears a red tie. They stand at the entry where the premium screening sign is. They often stopped me by waving their walkie talkie but lately I’ve just had my card on the app open before I enter the queue.

What I'm hearing in this discussion is that there's only guaranteed entry for individuals with the right boarding pass or status, and unlike some lounge and boarding privileges it doesn't extend to others in a group.
But actual practice means that there's potential for leniency on the day.
Is that right?

That's about right. I'd try it and just don't get stressed if you are questioned. The priority member should be first. I expect all they would do was make you wait a bit and wave you towards the longer queue near the scanners. But they are a weird bunch in Adelaide. So don't take it personally.

I had a pre set of four!

Ive always assumed it is based on status same as lounge access) so if SG 1 adult travelling with you (and up to 2 kids under 18); if WP/P1/CL then 2 adults travelling with you (and up to 2 kids under 18).

That's what I'd been hoping for when I started the thread.
(But with Virgin gold it's +1 adult and +3 kids for a total of 5 people)

I got a reply from Adelaide Airport customer service:
"Thank you for contacting Adelaide Airport.

Only yourself has access to the premium screening lane, your family will need to line-up at the general lane."

I'd try anyway. Of course they will say no.

Just don't ask - walk through and you probably won't be questioned and if you are just say I'm sorry I was told I could bring my family with me

I've passed through Adelaide a couple of times in the last month. The first time I was travelling with two others and was asked but upon waving the QF boarding pass on my phone they had no issues. The second time I was travelling with one other and no one asked at all.

Fuschia jacket is my old mate—stopped me and my son again this morning when going through the premium lane together. I had my card on the Qantas app open and visible to this guy before entering the lane but my son’s phone was on the Home Screen.
