BA now moving to 10 across on 777 in Y

Yet another reason not to fly BA...

From what I've heard, they're only going 10-across on their 777s based on LGW that mostly fly to leisure destinations (e.g. the Caribbean). But it wouldn't surprise me if their 777-300ERs (which fly to SYD) followed suit eventually.

The cabin width of a 777 is about 22cm narrower than the cabin width of a 747. Ten abreast is the standard Y config on the 744.

So at 9 abreast on a 777, the seats are slightly wider than on a 747; at 10 abreast, slightly narrower.

That's a shame. The current config is exceptionally comfortable in Y.
