Chances of waiver of inadmissibility getting approved

I had an appointment at the us embassy and was denied a visa due to a minor theft charge about 9 years ago. It was without conviction and a good behaviour bond was completed. The consulate official said he would apply for a waiver of in admissibility. I was just wondering if anyone has gone through this process and if they had been approved after an application was put through. Thanks

I have been through this process before and was granted a visa. I also know someone who has been recommended a waiver at the embassy and the waiver was denied by DHS after 6 months of waiting. You never really know what the outcome may be. Goodluck!
