Check-in opening time

Can anyone please advise when check-in for my LAX-MEL flight (T7, LAX) might open (ie time before departure)?

I would think that you could probably check in anytime as the UA check in desks should be open all day

Correct, or at least I could check in at 5:30pm for a 10:30pm flight. None of the counters had flights assigned to them.

The beauty of flying out of what is (mainly) a domestic AA terminal - there are no specific counters for specific flights.
