COVID19 Flight Cancellation booked during QANTAS Double SC promotion

I have booked flights during the double SC Promotion QANTAS had last month but now have to postpone one of the trips. I want to earn the double SC which I assume if I cancel the flights and get a voucher I will not be able to receive as the new booking will be outside the eligibility date.

Also, I just tried to change the flights to May but have been quoted a fee for changing them when the website says changes are done at no charge. I tried to call but the message says if you flight is not within 48 hrs to go online.

Does anyone have any knowledge of how to handle this?

If you cancel the flights and get a voucher you will retain the booking reference number, and any new booking will ordinarily get DSCs if flights taken within the window. If you cancel and (are entitled to and) get a refund the booking reference dies, and so does the DSC entitlement.

In most cases you should be able to do this online - go into the booking online and there should be a CANCEL/VOUCHER link to click. It may take a while - I am still waiting for one voucher to be confirmed in relation to a flight I cancelled Thursday

If I booked a flight under the February 2020 Double Status Credits offer and I am no longer travelling, will Qantas honour the Qantas Points and Status Credit earn?
No. Qantas Points and Status Credits will only be awarded for eligible flights flown.

Think you need to get in touch with them to confirm.

If you don't fly within the relevant window, you don't get any DSCs.

Or if you like, if you are entitled to zero DSCs, you get double zero.

I called to confirm before I took action nd it was as PIneappleskip suggests, the original booking reference is retained as is the link to the DSC, so when I rebook the flights within the time window they will automatically be applied.
