Fjord Cruise?

I intend to make EU trip this summer, and it starts from Copenhagen to Stockholm, then Oslo and I decide to expand my destination to Bergen and Stavanger before fly to Santorini.

The best way to go from Bergen to Stavanger is cruise. But when I try to search, there are bunches of companies without any price for reference Is there anyone experienced Fjord area?

I think if you have rail pass, just take a night train. cruises seem expensive on fjord line this season.

Hello! Been a lurker, this is my first post. The regional cruise line of Norway is Hurtigruten, and they offer many types of fjord cruises. Interestingly, they allowed us to join an existing cruise in Aalesund and take a day trip to Gereingerfjord, then back to Aalesund. We were told about this by the tour office in Aalesund, so it's definitely worth checking into if you're looking for something different and not a full cruise. Hope that helps.

Hello! Been a lurker, this is my first post. The regional cruise line of Norway is Hurtigruten, and they offer many types of fjord cruises. Interestingly, they allowed us to join an existing cruise in Aalesund and take a day trip to Gereingerfjord, then back to Aalesund. We were told about this by the tour office in Aalesund, so it's definitely worth checking into if you're looking for something different and not a full cruise. Hope that helps.

We sailed on Hurtigruten from Bergen to Tromso just prior to Christmas. Cabins are basic but very comfortable. Food is incredibly expensive -$40 for a plate of pasta from the cafeteria - but that's Norway. We booked directly through Hurtigruten as most agencies book the full package - cabin plus all meals - for at least double the cost. We paid $600 approx each for the 5 nights and breakfast buffet was included. The coffee/tea mug deal - $60 for unlimited coffee/tea for the duration of the cruise - seemed excessive but turned out to be quite cost effective for us on a cruise of this length. Lunch is a smorgasbord and dinner is a set 3 course menu - no choice - each around €40 per person.

We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and one day will complete the journey from Tromso to Kirkenes, probably in the summer months.

If going to Stavanger, seriously consider going to nearby Preikestolen (Pulpit's Rock). It's a massive cliff 604 metres directly above a fjord. It's quite popular with walkers, and provides a fantastic photo opportunity. It's a day trip, including ferry both ways from Stavanger.

In Oslo, be sure to visit the Opera Theatre and do the English guided tour. The architecture of this new building is stunning, and the backstage facilities are far superior to those at the Sydney Opera House. Unfortunately, Norway is an expensive place for most visitors.
