I'm not going to America

I've been in my current job for years, and I've now taken 40 trips for work. 39 to SYD and one to CBR - not very glamorous. Yesterday I was asked if I could go to San Diego in February, and I had to say no, because we have a baby due in early March. Worst possible timing.

I know what you mean. I was booked to go and present at a conference in Prague in 1999 but my firstborn was due right around that time and I pulled out. As it happened the bub was 2 weeks overdue so I could have done it in plenty of time but you just can't take that chance!

Never did get another chance to go to a conference in Europe.
Did get to go to some elsewhere like Hawaii and Japan though!

Not good timing but there will be other opportunities to travel overseas for work.

You newborn baby will bring a lot more joy than an overseas work trip and when you reflect on this moment in years to come you will realise how insignificant it was to miss out on an overseas work trip.

And if not you can stil down your sorrows in the QP each time you do one of those domestic trips
Seriously i wish you all the best with your new addition and i am sure it is worth it to miss a USA trip.
