Off to LCA (Cyprus) as SG - Qatar or Emirates (QF 8###)

Hi fellow AFFs,
Mrs w and I are off to LCA next year for a family event, and our 2 options are Emirates or Qatar. Ignoring the metal (EK A380 v QR B777), what works best for QF Gold? Similar SCs and points (using QF8### on EK) as far as I can see, however as SG are there likely to be better seat selection options etc on QR?
Any experiences of SG on EK v QR - in Y - would be appreciated.
