Reduced expiry of Air Asia BIG Points

I realise there probably aren't many people on here with Air Asia BIG Points. But I received an email from them today informing that the expiration of BIG points is being reduced from 36 months to 24 months, as of 1 June 2019.

Maybe they thought someone was within touching distance of having enough points for a redemption.
