seat selection on South African

Hi all, anyone know if you can do seat selection on SAA? I have got a ticket using Lifemiles. I can go into the "manage my booking" in SAA using the reference, but I see no option for seat selection. Any ideas / advice?

P.S. travelling in J PER-JNB-GRU

thanks kpc - I am entering unchartered territory for me (losing my QF fetters in getting from Aus to Sth America) - I think I have never actually flown SAA before.

A few years ago I was unable to do it online.

I had to ask at the counters when checking-in at JNB. I found the staff terrible. I asked for seat X and within 2 attoseconds of me finishing my question she said it wasn't available (not that she did anything to check).

I politely asked once again and this time she even used the computer to look at seats and hey bingo she put me into seat X.

How was the flight Juddles?

I have just booked my return from JNB with them. $67 plus 75k virgin points was too much of a saving over the $700 and 190k I was planning on just to experince F on emirates.

I have also had trouble with seats and have tried Guvners email idea.

Reading through SAA lounge eligibility seems a bit vague. Do you (or anyone) know if business gets lounge access?
It reads to me as though one has to be Platinum with Voyager or Star Alliance.
I presume Volocity gold will be pointless...

If any one is interested going forward my first SA flight was in economy from JNB to VFA.
There was. I line up at check in. It she would not let me check in until I could produce a ticket out of Zimbabwe.

Lounge access was granting production of my Virgin gold card.

Next flight was JNB to PER. A week later in J.
Lounge access was granted just with the ticket. Check in was very easy with no line up.
Neither flight was particularly full but seat selection to me only seemed available at check in. I did email earlier to the above address with no reply.

A good seat and service on both
Flights.

I didn't rate the lounge food as that great. The SLOW lounge in Durban was better.

Overall. A good experience.
