Can I have my baggage checked from HND - SIN without it connected to SYD and recheck it myself?
Also can I leave my luggage out in the carousel for potentially 1.5hours?

Basically i have a slight dilemma. I want to buy some duty free alcohol at HND airside, but I also want to go out at SIN given I have all day and friends to visit. Thus I might have trouble going through security again.

My flight lands at 645 and initially I was planning on chilling a bit before the QF J lounge opens around 7:50 where I'll grab some breakfast before heading out.

But now I need to figure out if I can leave my luggage on the belts there for a while. Alternatively I could just go out and find breakfast in Singapore itself at some cafe.

Assume you mean you are transiting SIN on way HND-SYD, and want to just check your luggage to the SIN intermediate stop. I further assume the rationale is that you can stash your HND acquired goodies in your checked luggage and leave that airside in SIN.

I have never attempted to check luggage to an intermediate transit stop so will make no comment on that.

As @Cynicor says you could collect your luggage (if successful with only checking it to SIN) - you could then take it to the bag store in the Jewel, and later check it in alongside at the early check-in point in the Jewel.

Well knowing how efficient SIN Changi is run, you may have to chase it down as I did see them clearing a belt while I was waiting at and adjoining one last November.

Should be fine. I've done it a couple of times recently after SQ flights.

Last week, it was about 1 hr after landing. Luggage was sitting beside the belt
Previous time, about 2 hrs after landing, luggage had been moved to be sitting (along with a heap of other bags) just in front of lost luggage.
