I'd finally come to terms with my impending drop from platinum to gold, and they go and do this!

Great benefit though, particularly in the context of the steep pricing of internet access at some sites. Le Meridien Picadilly comes to mind: ~25 pounds per 24 hrs.

Other hotel chains should follow suit.

Internet in most hotels is a rip-off, and the revenue far exceeds the cost to provide the service.

Although Hyatt starts giving the benefit from its lowest elite level (non base) (which is also Platinum!)
