IHG is currently having a promotion. Based on the email, it said invitation only. I just copied and paste the link and it seemed to be a generic link that gets you to a page where you aren't logged in. I'll just put it here in case anyone didn't receive this email.

I got the email as well. But anyone should be able to register with the correct link/promo code, as you say.

It starts right after the current double points offer ends.
