I haven't received any official communication from United yet, but if I log into the App my digital membership card now shows a January 2023 expiry date.

I did not fly enough in 2021 to meet the usual qualification requirements (for very obvious reasons) so suspect it is a widespread status extension. Not sure if just for people living outside the USA or for all United members.
