Virgin Atlantic Redemptions - Singapore Airlines

I took advantage of a buy points promo on Virgin Atlantic a few years back and wanted to redeem 2 first class flights on SQ

My understanding is that I have to call the UK call centre

Has anyone had any experience with this and where did you look for availability?

At a minimum, I expect there would need to be SQ First Saver availability showing on the Singapore Airlines website. I can't think of many routes where seats are actually available at the moment, but SIN-CGK or SIN-DEL might work.
