If you regularly make transactions in foreign currency, such as spending while overseas or shopping online with retailers outside of Australia, then the Citi Prestige Credit Card can be a good way to earn Citi reward Points from international spend. Note that this card attracts a 3.4% overseas transaction fee, so consider if this fee is worth the points earned.

Citi reward Points do not expire, provided that your card account remains open and in good standing.

Using points

There are a number of ways you can redeem your Citi reward Points. But one of the unique features of Citi credit cards is ‘Pay with Points’, allowing you to use your Citi reward Points to offset eligible transactions made on your card.

When you redeem 2,500 Citi reward Points, you’ll receive $10 back as a credit on your statement, giving you a value of 0.4 cents per point.

There are three ways to use this feature:

  • Pay with Points (full amount)
  • Pay with Points (partial amount via the Citi Mobile® App only)
  • Spend and Redeem (real-time SMS offer)
