FlyPelican Ending Velocity Frequent Flyer Partnership

FlyPelican has been a Velocity Frequent Flyer partner since 2017. It also started offering Virgin Australia Lounge access to passengers on selected ticket types in 2021.

But the Newcastle-based Australian regional airline will end its partnership with Velocity Frequent Flyer at the end of this month.

No more Velocity Points for FlyPelican flights

From 1 June 2025, FlyPelican customers will no longer earn 1-2 Velocity Points per $1 spent on airfares.

Until 31 May 2025, the following earn rates continue to apply:

Velocity has also put a time limit on missing points claims. If you fly with FlyPelican on or before 31 May 2025, you can claim missing points on the FlyPelican website up until 30 June 2025.

Velocity status credits have never been earned on FlyPelican.

End of lounge access for FlyPelican passengers

From 1 June 2025, FlyPelican customers with Corporate and Flexible tickets will also lose access to the Virgin Australia Lounges in Canberra or Sydney.

This was a benefit given based on the ticket type, and not a Velocity benefit.

Virgin Australia still partners with Link Airways

Virgin Australia continues to partner and codeshare with Link Airways, another regional airline operating in eastern Australia. You can continue to earn Velocity points on Link Airways flights, and earn status credits by booking VA-marketed codeshare flights operated by Link Airways.
