Jetstar takes delivery of first A320neo
Small sub fleet of A320N is coming through, looks like about half a dozen over the next few months. Not sure where they are planning on flying these smaller buses.
It's a bit of a vague thread but still think it might be useful to gather ideas and thoughts. A few of us have probably hit or about to hit Platinum for the first time, including myself, and therefore receiving our first 2 SNUs. This is a cool perk and i'm excited to treat my partner and I somewhere. However...we generally stay on the lower end of the brands and from the hotels i've looked at with suites, the extra cost to pay for the higher room (before SNU) is a fair bit higher than our...

20 Nov 2024 SYD airport media --> Sydney Airport announces major overhaul for T2 Domestic T2 used by Jetstar, Virgin, REX.
Hi All, I have an award booking on EK, booked with Qantas miles. SYD-DXB-GLA in F leaving tonight. The DXB-GLA leg has just been changed to J. I assume this is because the aircraft has been swapped out for a config without F. I assume that Qantas won’t offer any compensation for the change as a mixed class booking would cost the same amount anyway. Couple of questions: Can I claim UK261 compensation for the downgrade? Can I still have a look around the worlds biggest F lounge in DXB...

I managed to snag rewards SQ J MEL-SIN-FRA / CPH-SIN, yey! But it looks like I'll need to pay for SIN-SYD (oh the humanity!). I haven't flown anything but J for a decade at least, but this trip I'm considering a daytime flight SQ Y+ SIN-SYD... then saw that Scootplus is $1,000 cheaper. I understand the limitations of Scootplus but my only concern (on any flight, really) is seat comfort. AFF has a thread on SQ Y vs Scootplus (and the consensus was Scootplus wins), but can anyone provide a...
What really happens when you book a "comfort seat" on Qantas
I'll just preface this next bit by saying this isn't a bag-out or a complaint about QF - of which there are endless examples off, but it is a unique situation that indicated that something behind the scenes was as robust as it should have been. This is also a bit of an insight into the process for people who may want to book it themselves. So the Covid years had not been kind and I gained some stress chonk by working long hours in two hospitals, frequently right at the coalface of the...
Forget about Tyson Vs Paul, the real bust-up online appears to be the confected drama between Josh Cahill and Sam Chui. I reckon we're all going to collectively groan as that rubbish drama plays out, but I am curious about what everyone else's current presenter subscriptions are and if there's others that may be worth giving a subscribe to. What you think their weakness and strengths are? Maybe someone needs to rate them in a tier system. Here's my view on the state of YT and some...
I'm considering signing up a to BA's Avios subscription and would be keen to hear others opinion of and experience with it. I'm also keen to hear how people with 0 points got their first points in order to be eligible for the subscription (I am thinking of just buying something from a store listed on the BA mall and having it sent to someone in the UK as a gift.) Finally which currency did you elect to pay the subscription in?
Hi All, Just departing from Bali tonight and noted that the board states all virgin flights cancelled due to volcano. Does anyone have any insight into this? Noting all other flights to Melbourne still operating so assuming it’s effecting one of Virgins diversion airports rather than Bali itself

The DSC promos have been around for quite some time. The first time I came across and used them was in 2019 but QF had offered DSC's already on many years before that. What's your guess, how permanent is this as a sales promo? Or how many years do you think this kind of offering might have left? I wish they are more or less permanent but those do change. There surely would be inducements for frequent flyers to remain engaged and thev double status / points seems to work for them at the...
Given the Virgin side of AFF has had this style of thread for a while, and there are likely more than a few of us traveling in the front cabins of Qantas Domestic over the course of December/ January (for some reason), I thought it would be useful to create a thread dedicated to the meals for the foodies (of which there appear to be many) on this board. My preference is that the thread is entirely (well mostly - most on this board don't listen) posts in the below format. Format: Date...

Best seats on the Jetstar A321neo LR
I’m a bigger guy and usually fly up the pointy end but I’m having to fly jetstar for the first time in a while. Looking at the new neo seat map has anyone flown Row 28? It seems like the best bet to ensure I’m less likely to encroach on others? Anyone flown on this row or have any other suggestions?
Hi Looking at having to take the redeye from Perth to Brisbane departing 11:30 pm - arriving 6 am the next morning, as I am connecting from Broome. I am VFF Platinum so have access to the lounge and Economy X seating. My questions - is the Perth lounge definitely open as per their website until boarding of last flight? (I thought I read somewhere it closed early). If anyone has flown this flight (or one of the other east coast redeye flights), is upgrading to business worthwhile and what is...
I'm sure most people reading this are already familiar with the recent changes announced to Virgin Australia's Velocity Frequent Flyer program. In particular, from next year: You'll earn status credits for Virgin Australia flights based on the amount you spend, You'll earn fewer status credits on partner airlines, and To earn or retain any status level, you'll need to earn at least half of the required status credits from VA marketed flights you personally fly (i.e. not from family pooling...
VA seat maps haven't been showing on EF for ~2 days now, possibly longer. You don't realise how much you use something until it stops!
No travel plans thread for 2025? If there is mods, please merge. I decided to post after last night's bookings. Start the year in Busan Korea. We fly to Seoul on Dec 24. We'll spend 13 days between Seoul, Jeju, Busan and Gyeongju. Another dsc run to CHC over Oz Day weekend. Staying down at NZ's little France, Akaroa. I love the irony ;) Up to Cairns to catch up with our Port friends over Easter. Last night we booked a return to Africa for most of June. East this time. Managed to get PE...
