Have to leave that one for the professionals to answer. If it's true we (Australia) haven't built one in 20+ years :shock:

There have been some signifcant new Private hospitals and advanced private medical centres that hve been built. There are certainly whole raft of public hospitals due over the next few years, to name a few:

• New Royal Adelaide Hospital
• Perths New Childrens Hospital
• Bendigo Hospital
• Northern Beaches Hospital (Sydney)

I guess so, in the context that a public hospital may already exist in those towns, but what is "new" a whole new facility or simply a refurbishment/extension of existing? all the above are "new" in that they are being built from nothing.

But then the new hospital is only a kilometre from home.Not going to be bad for property values!

Premier Campbell Newman signed the historic public-private partnership arrangement at Nambour Hospital, with Health Minister Lawrence Springborg.
He said the consortium included Lend Lease, Spotless Group, Capella Capital and Siemens, and would build then maintain the hospital for 25 years.
"When its doors open in 2016, SCUH will become the first major new hospital built in Australia for more than 20 years," Mr Newman said.

SCUH will be the first major new, not replacement, hospital built in Australia for more than 20 years. As a new public tertiary teaching hospital at Kawana on the Sunshine Coast, its vision will be to provide excellent care through collaboration, enquiry and education.
SCUH will open in late 2016 with approximately 450 beds, growing to 738 beds by 2021. It will provide a range of new and expanded free public hospital services to the Sunshine Coast and Gympie communities, as well those outside of the region including the Wide Bay.
SCUH will revolutionise healthcare on the Sunshine Coast and will mean an estimated 10,000 patients each year will not need to travel to Brisbane for complex treatments. SCUH will be the centre of the Kawana Health Campus, which will include the Skills, Academic and Research Centre (SARC), a co-located private hospital and opportunities for health-related commercial developments.

Old timers tell me that in the 70s land was acquired in Maroochydore for a hospital to replace Nambour but they built the Police headquarters there and expanded Nambour hospital instead.

QLD Health recently purchased a large parcel of land along Maroochy Boulevard....wonder what they are doing with that?

At least I can okay to my new handicap (21). Proved it today. But 36 points was good for nothing apart from my NTP.

If you can regularly score 36 points then your handicap is too high.

I play at my home course Bardwell Valley off 13 and shoot 75 on medal round and I played to my handicap exactly.

I then play Macarthur Grange off adjusted 15 handicap and score 27 points. Course is too tough if you miss fairways regularly.

Then I play Cabramatta off 9 handicap from social tees well forward and score 31 points. It would have been torture off the plates even with say 16-17 handicap.

If I shoot 75 again at Bardwell Valley people say that my 13 handicap is too high. If I play off lower handicap the game on other courses will be torture.

Yes. It is a par 62 but is now rated a par 63. It has a slope rating of 109 where neutral is 113.

I can play to my handicap there most times and people say my handicap is too high. But when I go to places like Goonawarra, Kilmore, Oxley, Gailes, Bribie Island etc I struggle to break 90 and even with adjusted handicap I struggle.

Does anyone here watch If You Are The One? It is a Chinese dating game show on SBS2, thankfully with subtitles.

The premise is that one guy presents himself to 24 women. Each woman has a light & if she doesn't like the guy, she turns her light off. There's a series of Q & A rounds & videos where you can learn more about the guy.

From what I figure, the women stay on the show over a number of episodws until they get selected for a date. This can mean that sometimes, a guy will come onto the show for one specific girl.

I haven't laughed so hard at a show for some time.
