Unfortunately I got this email, "joined" by which I mean spent a few minutes doing a survey, which dumped me at the IHG home page with no confirmation or thank you or anything

then about 30min later got the same email again, so i thought uh oh maybe there was an issue, clicked the join link and just got a message saying you've already completed this survey.

Same same - I have only recently joined IHG and after having to chase both stays and promotion bonus points in the first few months as a member I am wondering why I bothered...

Identical experience to yours. As such, I've proceeded to book my next stay at a Mercure.

I understood the initial survey was an application to be on their advisor panel, and if chosen I would be sent up to 2 surveys a month earning some points. Have I misunderstood or have you already been accepted?

The invitation said "Join Now" not "apply to join now", while the wording did suggest you might be rejected I personally doubt it unless they think your are falsifying something. This is very cheap market research!

Both Mrs andye (0 stays 0 points) and I (several stays) were invited. Agree it was a clunky end to the application process. 5-10 minutes is quite short compared to other market research sites
