Good for you! I've never snared an afternoon spa spot unless flying F myself so you were lucky. Interesting to know if the check-in offers are more common?
Check in offer was a first for us via a very good host we hadn't seen before at check in - I hope she stays! Other than that very hit and miss at the Flounge desk - but some success on mid week afternoons.
I had the sticky beef and pavlova in the Melbourne F lounge yesterday, they were lovely. The strangest thing I witnessed was a family bundling chips into serviettes as they were hurried out of the lounge to fly to Honolulu on JQ!! I also think that one was a 'minor celebrity'........
The Stonewell Shiraz was in the decanter in SYD yesterday. I was in pretty early and had a lot of travel still to do, so wanted to keep the drinks to a minimum** but having enjoyed the wine in MEL just the other day I had to have one glass.
i think this is a great menu, but even so after multiple visits there's only so many snapper, pork loin, lamb shoulders and corn fritters one can eat. On my SYD visit I tried the pulled pork bun - it was also fabulous.
** After a Bloody Mary and two champagnes. I guess I failed.
The winter menu will kick in at the start of June and you will usually be able to get a preview a week before that - usually Ausbt have that info early.
Side Note: The Casella Limited Release Shiraz is very good ... much better than average for what has been available recently. Then again I was weaned on such reds ...
