Quirky toilet signage spotted last night - seeking explanations

Had my last night in Myanmar before flying to Bangkok this morning for a month or two on the move.

Went to one of the newer expat bar/restaurants in downtown Yangon, and when visiting the facilities I spotted this rather unusual sign.

Twittersphere hasn't shed any light on it yet



So, my fellow AFF'ers - my challenge to you is to come up with the event that occurred which could have prompted such a sign being thought important enough to be stuck up prominently in the old water closet.

Points for originality and oddball answers...

No standing (as in squatting) on the toilet bowl?

With that basket there, I reckon the 'real' answer is no (toilet) paper in the bowl.

Common in a number is countries. It does make for a rather odiferous toilet at times though.
The language mastery is similar to the ‘no turning over’ sign on a fence in front of a sharp drop that we saw in China.

No tissue in the loo is pretty much a given in these parts, and well understood.

Owner is a UK expat, and he was rather evasive about the real meaning of the sign

I think that they mean No Toilet PAPER. It is quite common see toilets in Asia where they do not want paper flushed down the toilet as the system cannot handle paper.

They will provide a bin etc for the paper, and from your pick that seems to be one there.

Glad to see the expat can spell stationery correctly. Using the other one woukd give it a whole new meaning.

Obviously someone tried to push the envelope regarding what is appropriate to deposit.

Then someone had to do some paperwork to get a motion passed.

Still they do need to brush up on their spelling. But if they remain stationary nothing will happen.

Time to push the button.
