As my office is closed for Easter, I was running short of things to do from the hotel room, so decided that the company fitness policy should kick into gear and I took myself for a walk down to the Koki Fish Market in POM. An enjoyable couple of hours was had, but I did get sun burnt in the process!
There was plenty of activity around the market.
I think the banana boats ferry clients from the surrounding villages.

The market itself is quite interesting. I'm not much of a fisherman, but they certainly looked OK to me!
You buy your fish and then you can have some guys clean and fillet them for you for K1-K2 (AU$0.42 - AU$0.85). That service was started by a few entrepreneurs who saw a viable income. It has proven so successful, that there is now a team of these micro-business owners and the market has built a cleaning station just for them. The eager customers wait patiently whilst their purchases are prepared for them.
On the way back, I passed a couple of guys doing a bit of spear fishing around the rocks. I'm not sure what he told me he caught, either an eel or a snake! I'm not so sure I'd like to eat either!
