BA Premium Economy Cheap Fares

Hey everyone, just a heads up (and of course assuming international travel is back to some normality)- I was looking at premium economy fares on BA to LHR ex SYD in late November and you can get return flights for under AUD$3200.00. Thought that was a pretty good deal. Has anyone flown BA premium Y? Is it any good and worth it? Only downside is they charge at the very least $67 to reserve a seat each sector.
I know it maybe wishful thinking that international travel will be open in November, but it's nice to dream ☺

Japan Airlines has a slightly superior premium economy offering overall, and importantly includes lounge access and priority baggage, and their fares are around $2600 at the moment for travel in November. And no extra charges for seat selection.

if travel has resumed by November, but with any sort of covid measures in place, BA has gone pretty hard and fast in terms of food and beverage offering - all classes, even first class, were just getting a bottle of water, a sandwich, and a kit kat on flights from Australia to London. Nothing else. Other airolines were still offering full hot meals. So you's be wanting to do some research before booking with any airline.

I thought I read recently BA intended to stop service to Australia.

I flew BA premium economy on the 777 and A380. I was seated at exit row on all flights, so massive leg room, but it looks like the legroom was generous in other rows. The food and wine offering is not as good as QF, but BA food is never something to write home about. I found the BA seat to be more comfortable than the JL and CX seats.

Have you flown BA pre-COVID-19 changes? Their food is one of the best in the business now, with the catering changes that have rolled out over the last year or two.

As to whether that is a good price @scoobs214 it depends on what you're after. If you position to somewhere like DPS or CGK (pending borders being open) then you can often pickup a J return fare for a similar cost, obviously you need to add positioning costs. BA's WT+ (Y+) product is OK but I wouldn't go out of my way to use it and I have flown it quite a bit.

Will November be OK to travel? I'm not sure, really. Here in the UK the government isn't clear about what restrictions will and won't be in place. To give you an idea, we're still in full lockdown and the first change of that really even starting to lift a small bit is not until July at the earliest and that is conditional. Personally, I wouldn't be planning to come and visit here in November but that's your call to make. If they do ever put this 14 day quarantine in place, I'd suggest that'll likely still be there in November so you'd need to factor that in too.
