I'm surprised a question about Covid contact wasn't asked on admission. Do they take Medicare number when testing? If so I'd expect that positive to be a reference attached to that number.Same hospital had a patient in recently for a bowel procedure. Post procedure the patient advised that they had tested positive for a test that they had done prior to admission, but which they deliberately did not reveal to staff. Presumably so they could still get their procedure done. Fortunately it looks like the strict PPE procedures at the hospital have prevented anyone becoming positive though two staff were isolated just in case.

You didn't state that they were asked. You said they didn't reveal. Different meaning to me. Reveal is more a voluntary disclosure. I'd have used Dishonest or even Lied. And there is no need to bold. Why do you think it was not asked? Of course the patient was asked. I said they deliberately did not reveal it to staff. They lied.
Also as I stated the positive result came back afterwards. They were in for a day procedure.
Unfortunately some people put their own needs above others like the the Brisbane man that got tested and then flew to New Zealand, with his positive test result coming through while he was in the air.

You also didn't state in the original post that the positive result became known to the patient after the procedure but my interpretation was that they only told the staff the test was positive after the procedure had been done.
There are going to be some serious ethical questions to be dealt with in the lock down of buildings.
Darryl the addicted person urgently needs some heroi_ or he will start 'cold turkey' withdrawal. Do the police provide him with methadone under medical supervision?
Matt the meth addict urgently needs some 'ice'. He will behave very erratically and violently unless he gets some and soon. What do you do?
Angela the alcoholic has run out of alcohol and has no money to buy anymore. Withdrawal from alcohol without medical supervision for an addict will cause many adverse outcomes. Angela has no intention of going sober and is a long-term and very heavy drinker.
In all of these situations supply is illegal, yet it will ensure safety on the estate.
I doubt there are any medical results attached to a Medicare number.
You would have to opted in at MyGov as a minimum, and even then I doubt that Covid19 test results would be part of that. Let alone just getting a test done where there is yet no result.
At most, Medicare would know you had a test. They won't know the result.

With the apartment towers they are looking to try and achieve 100% testing of 3000 people.
I heard Dan mention that any resident of the towers refusing a test would stay in lockdown for a further period of timePresumably they will also get very accurate stats from the towers of numbers declining and their reasons for doing so?

Why would I just say they did not not reveal that they were tested, and not did not reveal the more serious matter that they were positive?
