Sorry but it’s not enough.Did you not read my comment about police checking groceries?
Gladys is trying to out-do Dan Andrews for who can be the most draconian.

It’s clear people are still gathering in homes

Night curfew at 8pm and mandatory masks outside of the home right now would help.Sorry but it’s not enough.

Curfew would assist in exactly the scenarios the deputy police commissioner described today.Night curfew at 8pm and mandatory masks outside of the home right now would help.

It’s a good joke but not really funny. It’s clear that most people are doing the right thing but some have been taking the Mickey and stretching the rules. Under normal circumstances I’d also be totally against police overreach but people have been asked nicely to obey the rules but some still aren’t.If you are in the supermarket and grab a chocolate bar are they going to remove it from your basket as non essential?
I am glad they pointed out the risk of having tradesmen
As a Melburnian I'll posit that we know all about wake up calls. We've lived through it with derision from the rest of Australia. The hospitalisations and (and now death) in NSW should be a wake up call to the entire country.
Sadly NSW didn't learn the very hard lessons they should have from happened here in Melbourne.
Because there would be no reason for them to be out....going to or returning from a birthday party or playing xbox in a garage...I think that's obvious. How so? There were orders prohibiting these gatherings already, the individuals who were gathering had zero intention of following the rules, adding a nother rule wont change this.

You tend to dismiss any suggestion that just maybe NSW isn’t perfect.I wonder if Janette Young would like to review her comments that young people were more likely to die of AZ with people under 40 in ICU including a teenager on a ventilator.

Curfews have been used by governments all over the world in a crisis for hundreds of years. They mean that police resources can more effectively applied to address the problem.Curfews make it much simpler to enforce the rules.
Without a curfew it is simply impractical to verify that those out walking or driving late at night are only doing so for a valid reason.
That gathering goer if pulled up can simply say I am going to exercise or shop. Police can do little.
With a curfew foot and car traffic is only a fraction, and it is much easier for police to enforce the rules.
Always going to be exceptions but with a curfew it’s much easier for Police to do their job. There should be minimal traffic on the road and those that are can be pulled over by police and questioned about there comings and goingsThat was in an underground garage of a block of flats, the atteendees were from other flats in same building, id bet money would have happened even with a curfew, as only visible if neighbours dob you in.
We don’t need to cough foot around with definitions of common property, building sites etc. if you are not in your place of residence (or in a vehicle) you should have a mask on.How do outside masks help?

Instead we have to wait till Tuesday for the mask rule on common property.
Hard disagree on this. Everything that makes it less attractive to be out of your home is needed right now. Masks are part of those tools. The common property one is to enforce it INSIDE, so nothing to do with outside masks.
There's no evidence of transmission outdoors (Kerry Chant spoke about this a few days ago). Efforts should focus on enforcing existing rules, not making new ones. There's no point locking your windows when you've got the front door wide open.
This battle is both medical and psychological.
