I read somewhere that the current date is near the end of July for SYD and no date yet for BNE and MEL. Though that SYD date would be tentative at this stage and depend a lot on their being sufficient demand.

Personally I think it’s all about demand but has been hard to predict that. Fortunately seems to be getting easier, still some surprises but gradually they seem to be less important.

Sounds like it. Think they will firstly require the definition of fully vaxxed to be three doses and then apply that to all incoming passengers. Hopefully they drop all pre departure tests aswell

And possibly make everyone not eligible for Medicare have travel insurance - the age of generosity/public health to treat everyone (like incoming travellers) with covid for no charge must be over soon. But possibly too hard to get incoming travellers to pay for their own PCR if required while they are here.

more than the govt will allow!!!
..sibling and her immediate family all Aus Citizens but have lived in Europe over 20 years/various partners in that cohort (boyfriends and girlfriends ) not Aus so currently aren’t allowed to visit with her ..

Yes pre departure tests need to go immediately for all fully vaxxed passengers. Period. We need to get out of this rut now, time to move forward…

I can put up with the test leaving AU, for me the test on return is the bigger problem.
