Wine Suitcase, recommendations

Ok, no doubt this will be the wrong area to post.
I'm looking for recommendations for a "wiine" suit case. Does anyone have any expereinces.
I first came across this concept with an international board, where the partner of the chair travelled with a wine suit case for their local purchases.
WIth my impeding Germany trip, I'm thinking beer from Munich. So I'm wondering if a wine suitcase might eb a suitable to cover beer as well.

I've found this mob over in Adelaide, but not sure that's going to suit my immediate needs. The Wine Check Australia

As best I can work out the saving might be about A$40 for 20 beers, so don't want to spend too much. A pelican case might be too much at this stage.

Plan B is bubble wrap and take a spare suitcase.

Looks like the inside of 'The Wine Check' is just cardboard. Seems a bit dodgy! Good luck surviving the baggage handlers without proper padding inside.

I think you could achieve the same thing with a regular suitcase and a bunch of towels.

I've frequently packed just a few bottles in with my regular clothes. I make sure its in the middle and nicely padded. Never had an issue.

I use the Australia Post heavy duty mailing tubes, when carting wine around in my suitcases across to the UK. Cut them to the right length, a wrap of bubble wrap around the bottle and slide them in. Put some extra bubble wrap in the top before sealing with some masking tape. I've never lost a bottle. I then reuse the tubes to bring back scotch and gin.

Thanks all. I really like the idea of a wine suitcase, like pelican case style. But I just can't see the economics for a case for beer. Maybe worthwhile for wine if doing numerous trips per year...

Maybe it is because I live next to a vineyard (well the area has a lot of additional ones), but once upon a time the local post office would sell styrofoam wine bottle shipping containers. Single, double and triple if I recall. I may have seen similar devices in cardboard construction. Either, inside of normal hard sided luggage has worked well on many trips.
I also used it to take local samples to the people I visit overseas when I was able to be wandering.

PS At least one Argentinian seemed to like my local shiraz. Though I like the malbec he served as well......

I was thinking about weight. I'd guess about 20 kg plus or minus the suitcase. 12x750 ml bottles is 9 kg of liquid, plus the glass (what 5 kg?) Allow 6 kg for the suitcase with padding?

edit: whoops the wine cruzer specs say 24.7 lb, so 11 kg.

Google tells me an empty bottle is 0.5 kg. So 12 bottles are 15 kg (9+6), putting the wine cruzer over the 23 kg level.

I do have a single styrofoam bottle holder at home. it takes up a lot of space...

FWIW: We've used boxes like this with addded bubble-wrap packing then packed into its own wheeled suitcase to bring back a dozen wines from both the US and Europe. All arrived safely.
