For the Cave, mine provides robes but we take our own (hubby uses his surf poncho). In between sessions you might go wait in the chill room and have a tea or water. Most people seem to re-dress but I prefer not to. One person yesterday was in her pjs and tee.

US people wear UGG boots in their winter. Everywhere. PJ’s . Matching top and bottoms I guess. Still, when I think of fashion during my teens etc I can’t possibly comment. These days though you end up with your photo on social media.

Neighbour update game changer..... they are having hebel for external walls and not bricks. Comparing it to a Pinnacle Home a few blocks away, who also has external hebel, neighbour can be well in front of us quickly. Happy for them but where is my colourbond Bluegum and roofers?

Not angry or disappointed, just sad that another couple of days chipped away at the timeframe. The Pinnacle Home is SMASHING their build timeline. They completed internal electricals and currently gyprocking and started about the same time as us. Thrilled for them but wheres my bluegum and roofers (was hoping they would start this week).

6.30am truck arrived with colorbond bluegum delivery. Some of the sheets are huge, looks 15mtrs from our side of the fence.

I did have to email our SS as the anticon blanket is suppose to be R1.5 and they delivered R1.3. Already warned SS on first day we met that I'll be checking all insulation as roof and floor suppose to be R6 and walls R2.5 Sound Proof.

My phone rings and it's the building company owner calling. My R1.3 v R1.5 showed an error in our signed contract. Correct is R1.3. Our basix shows R1.3.

Me to hubby: We have been nothing but polite and happy with our build and SS so why would the big boss phone?

Hubby: Because they know you read every line to pick over any differences (I also picked up a missing whirly bird and was advising SS of missing original bathroom window) plus you post every thing on social media which we know already brought them in a couple of $1+mil contracts.

But all good, we have R6 insulation as well in ceiling and floor.

We also discussed my video of lots of snoopy snoops this week but one in particular was creepy, he looked like he was looking around for tools and didnt look at the house. Most look at the roof, look at the external plan on the gate, stand back and just look but his focus was ground level and around to side. We tested alarm so we can activate it if needed. Hubby tightens the gate lock every night so no gap at least.

Last week our Bluegum roofing materials was delivered (yeah!) and sadly no roofers this week. In the meantime scaffolders left 3 lots of stuff in the way (still to be installed or removed?) and this morning our lovely brickies arrived and unable to work because of all the materials in the way so they went to another job. I know we've had a good run so far but to lose a week of great weather hits hard. On the plus side, upper level was wrapped today so fingers crossed as our SS said Monday should bring some action

3 weeks to get our scaffolding ticked off and finally..... fascia and gutter installation today.

30yrs ago I use to work for a metal F&G company and back then the tradies use to cut/fold the corners Im guessing its a lost art these days so this is what they do

Yesterday we had roof rails installed and was told scaffolding is now complete and roof can start and this morning 3 roofers showed up, looked around and then left.

(&*#(#$&##( scaffolding didnt install all the roof rail required. So July has been a fizzer for roof. We hoped July 21st we would have roof completed, solar panels installed and upper brick completed or almost complete... none of this happened.

To say Im miffed is an understatement so following up my SS with a WTF is going on.

Im peeved that we've lost July and perfect weather.

Today we had more roof rails and battens installed, hoping these are the last of the hold ups.

Other than installing a jumpy castle I dont know what else could be outstanding to get our roof on

I sent my SS a 6am WTF text this morning, he will be on site soon. If any one would have said that our roofing would do my head in, I wouldn't have believed them.



My scaffolding is also coming down and they too had a WT moment and took pics while laughing at it so good to know it wasn't just me.

If that is sitting on the colourbond I'd insist the sheet be replaced. Good that you took a photo.

I got one half of a factory roof last year because over the years tradesman servicing things like the air-conditioners walked on it incorrectly and this caused creases which leaked and required callouts. It was a very expensive exercise and so to protect the roof sheeting from future lack of care I had a safety walkway system installed, also not cheap. The roofer called me and said he couldn't warranty his work because the walkway installers had not taken care and the new roof sheets were creased and there was swarf (metal filings from hole drilling) all over the roof. It cost quite a sum to bring in a crane to lift the air-conditioners out of the way so that the roofer could replace the damaged 21m long sheets.

@Denali make sure there are no swarf cuttings left on the roof sheeting or in the guttering. They'll rust the roof.

Installed the colorbond sheeting around the the scaffolding leg. A neat job of it but yes, its going to have to be removed and the entire sheet & blanket under replaced for that section.

Theyve been leaf blowing the roof every day but we've been picking up cans of drinks in the gutters - the V cans are small enough to get into the downpipes
