Yes its interesting - mind you since I could travel back to CN post Covid plenty Australian wine on shelves many many CN retail outlets.

I ‘twas out to dinner with a couple of friends who are allegedly very intelligent but cannot be cause they watch Sky News non stop - anyways they hold the view you will never buy a decent red again in Australia cause China will soak them all up and we are all to expect significant price rises on the seconds left here that we can access - I kid you not

If you were a wine producer you'd have to be reluctant to consider them anything more than occasional buyers. You certainly couldn't trust them not to do this again.

It is so interesting viewing wine appreciation / consumption by the Chinese population that I come in contact with as a very regular visitor to China.

So rare that you can observe Chinese who actually understand and appreciate drinking wine as the Westen world know. I remember years ago sitting sitting and people watching at Kabb in Xintiandi in SH and watching 2 young attractive Chinese ladies consuming a red as we would here - next night out with some of our suppliers they insisted we drink AU wine - so they purchased a 389 and proceeded to pour it in a jug then top up with lemonade and cool down with ice blocks - OMG - welcome to drinking wine in China

I am surprised at the number of businesses that really don't seem to have done their SWOT analysis or have solid business continuity plans including diversification.

Putting all your eggs in one basket and a shaky one at that is a recipe for disaster.
