BA16 booked on two seperate tickets. Can we check bags through to LHR?

Hi, I am booked to travel SYD to SIN in J on BA16. Then connect/continue on same day SIN to LHR in W on BA16.

Both flights were booked as QF classic reward redemptions at different times, hence why the seperate tickets/PNRs.

Just wondering if i am able to check bags all the way through to LHR when I check in at SYD? I was hoping that this wouldn’t be a drama considering it’s the same aircraft/flight…but I have read some mixed experiences from people on BA with seperate tickets?

Checking in with BA will be no problem.
6 months ago we were flying BA 16to SIN and the next day on JAL to NRT and they offered to check our luggage through to NRT but we wanted our bag in SIN.

We did have 2 identical set of flights. This one mixed the second to SIN and first from there.

Sorry, do you mean the flight from SYD to SIN and SIN to NRT were on seperate tickets/PNRs? Or were they apart of the same booking?

Two different pnrs with each having identical flights is what i was trying to say

Officially BA don't connect bags on different PNRs even BA to BA (same as AA) - but of course it depends on the agent on the day.

This might be an exception given it's the same flight number so the bags would actually stay on the plane in SIN and save BA work; but I'm not sure they put that much thought into it.

Thanks @drron sorry but I’m still confused. Was your flight to Singapore and Tokyo on the same booking or on seperate bookings?

My situation is that my flight to SIN and LHR are on different bookings..
