New Amex statement credits

It also just appeared for me. Customer service advised that they were looking into raising the subscription limit so perhaps that's what's happened. All in all, an "Amex Experience" that's probably more unimpressive than the points are even worth.
 
I've been told by customer service that the card number is being extended. Check it out now as it just popped up for me.

Hmmmm, I logged on again to check, it seems like the offer is actually near the middle of the list, instead of at the top. So I've just activated it as well.

If this is the one I'm thinking of (and that people complain about downthread as being oversubscribed by the time they got the email) then it's on all spend, whereas @sudoer has I think the Amex Travel one.

I have both, and managed to activate the 5x one before it filled up.
 
I logged back in and got the offer.. even though cust services said I couldn't have it. Left hand/right hand. they would have cheerfully cancelled my account of 21 years over messenger.

I doubt regular spenders are the target here. Suspect they're trying to encourage those who don't use their card much to get spending.

My spend is 30-60k per month.... so 2,500 points is not even noticeable.
