Strategy to obtain US Amex

Happy New Year
I managed to get a SoFi account signed up with a ITIN and got a Rakuten MR bonus
Interestingly it pulls the Transunion Vantage 3 score - mine is only 589 but my understanding is that no one really looks at Vantage score - it pulls correctly the 2 Amex I have and repayment history etc

Equifax has an incorrect address and no matter how many times I try to correct it they don’t seem to stick - I think they want a state ID for it to work

I have the Bonvoy Biz Amex, Bonvoy Amex, Hilton Aspire and IHG Chase Premier. I'm looking to add another card; ideally one with high points earning on travel (general - eg staying at hotels that are not Hilton/Amex), and good for every day spending. What would be the next card to apply for if you were me?

DP here for fellow tight-cough...

I missed out on the bargain priced Maza, and couldn't justify spending ~$400 on an agent (and also didn't like the idea of sending copies of my passport etc to a random person on the internet)

I filled out a W7 and 1040NR from the IRS website (declared $85 gambling income).

After receiving confirmation that they would do it (via email) from the Passport Office, I took my passport in and had certified copies made (no appointment required) for free. A surprisingly painless procedure for a government interaction.

I mailed my W7,1040NR and certified passport copy via standard mail (~$4) on 14/10.

The certified copies were returned to my US address on 19/11, and my ITIN arrived there on 27/11
That’s great news. Does anyone know if certification by an Australian embassy will do ? We are presently overseas .

It's not embossed, but it has 2 stamps with DFAT logo/Passport office etc on it.

For those who have done the W7/1040NR combo (or had agents do it on their behalf), does the IRS eventually send you a notice of assessment based on that initial tax return ?

That was what I interpreted the explanatory notes to imply, but I have yet to receive an assessment or request for their $9 in tax :)
Yes . I did have to pay tax more then a year later .

Capital one Venture X. U get 2x everywhere and if u book travel through the portal u get 10x I think. No FX fee. However they r temperamental on the approval side.

My P2 got declined for the hsbc premier soon after opening a premier checking account . Any tips for approval ? We applied online directly . Is it Better going through an RM ?

Hello everyone,
I have been recycling the 9k deposit between my HSBC Everyday global account and Macquarie Savings account for 6 months now, but still no word from HSBC about a Premier upgrade. (I usually withdraw 9k at the start of the month, and then deposit it back into HSBC on the final week of the month)

Should i continue waiting for an email from them or just go into a branch and enquire ?

After 6 months, I went on live chat and got it soon afterwards.

I wasn't able to get a Sofi account, was declined about 3 months ago.

@georgie23 got approved recently.
I was also declined a few months ago

What I think fixed my application was
- making sure that Experian and transunion had my correct details for ID check
- phoning up and CSR confirmed my number was ITIN and not SSN - even though they say they accept ITIN I think when you put it in it must flag as SSN on their end and need to call and get it flagged as ITIN - the CSR said that now it is ITIN and application should go through - I waited a few weeks and then redid application and was successful - I got to the passport verification but it accepted my Australian passport and selfie and all went through

Is it necessary to use the US add ?
