Access to AA lounges on YUP/KUP fares? I have no status

I believe they may be giving the 24H internet pass out on request in the A/C - this since around September.

They certainly do in the F/Ls. I have a spare one or two; if the OP PM's me a mailing address I'll send them one.

I have seen mixed results on this.

Today in the SFO Admirals club they offered one to the gentleman standing next to me.

But two weeks ago at MIA, they gave me one for being Emerald, but the guy next to me requested one and got denied.

You should receive 2 drink chits per lounge visit, and are only available for that lounge, usually they add a stamp. SFO I only received one.

Cheeky AAngels only hand out 1 drink chit to me most times. No problem though going back and getting more.

So officially OWE do not get free wifi in admiral's club.however on our last trip in September mrsdrron as a WP was offered it twice,not offered 4 times.
So some may get lucky.there are generally computers in the clubs which you can use for free.
FLs have had free wifi for some time.However unless transcon or international an F ticket doesn't get you into the FLs.

Could you just sign up with an AA account to get the free wifi when you visit the lounge with your Qantas Club card. :?:

I believe it's Admiral's CLUB members who use their AAdvantage number; just like one's QP number is also one QFF number.

To be honest, this thread really does answer your question - but to summarise:

A. Yes (before departure, when an open lounge exists)

It also provide commentary on how to maximize your experience. (Drink chits etc.)

Note that I believe WiFi is now complimentary for all in the A/C.

Thanks Serfty. I was double checking because the thread was a bit old. Drink chits? I assume these are vouchers and one just asks at the counter?

THe chits allow access to the non-basic beverages
ie heavy beer, spirits and bottled water

Also from other posts, AA is slowly rolling out free WiFI for all in the Admirals Clubs, not just AC members or scratchie card holders

For the record during my last trip to the US the drink chits were almost always offered to me upon entry. I wonder if the computer tells them to offer these after they swipe the QC card.

Finally, don't expect greatness. The lounges aren't amazing.

I guess as I rarely drink spirits and have very low expectation of the wines in the AC that I wouldn't have much exposure to what they do and do not have.

LOL U R quite right, I should have been more specific - I wasn't drinking Wolf Blass, rather Scotch Whiskies. (And certainly nothing "domestic" either way.)

I suspected these lounges might not be the best. Will be frequenting a few in the coming months so hopefully better than nothing.

While we're on it, what are people's experiences with AA? I've got a few flights back n forth with them US-Caribbean and also some internal US ones booked via Qantas classic award. Status credits and Q points awarded for paid flights??
