Had a great experience with Qantas today, got to the lounge and had the attendants print my boarding passes. No words were said, but my seats (4D/4F) had changed to 2A/2C. Then boarded the plane to find it was VH-VZX, a BSI (my first) and mum and I watched AVOD gate to gate.

Really happy.

First op-up (and they took my mum with me too - a bronze QFF).
First BSI.

Indeed that is true, and some would say things have not changed much:

BSI sounds like a VH-VZx 738 but VH-OQG is the A380, where were you flying?

Better to check with the relevant car rental company. From experience it is certainly better to have an International Driving Permit.. Primarily for Travel Insurance Purposes.. At times it can be a prerequisite for any claim.. I always have on hand & current just to cover any unknown or obscure formalities.

Some idiot updated his Wikipedia entry saying he had died from carbon poisoning, but it was taken down fairly quickly (between refreshes about 10.17pm).

I have out of precaution when hiring a car in France and Belgium. Have not bothered for the US & UK.
Possibly handy when the police picked me up in France for turning over some kind of line I shouldn't have.

It's really just a translation of your license into other languages, so although I know they speak a bit funny in 'Merrica and UK technically shouldn't need one!

Exaclty why we haven't bothered - the other varieties of English should be able to deal with our Aussie version and localise accordingly.

On the 21 June 2012, my 104 grand mother died, thanks to those people who sent me condolence messages.

My grand mother Oliver Webber was on the ABC TV show Compass: The 100+ Club, which went to air on the 1 July 2012.

Not sure why she featured about her acting/singing but I guess it was a way to keep herself active in her older years.

Show can be found on ABC iview for the next few weeks, I have actually watched a few TV shows both on ABC and channel 7 where I missed the full episode.

My third room at the Hilton Adelaide is sooooooooooo much nicer than the first two!!!.....

What sort of room is that one? I've only ever had Exec rooms there. No suites.

In the US and Canada or the UK, no one cared. In Spain, they insisted on seeing it.

So it had the new red leather seats in business class, modelled to look very much like J in the A380. The overhead bins gave more headspace, but when opened were bigger too. Blue LED lighting throughout.

Was a very nice experience. Wish they were all like this!




I'd hazard a guess that he got a King Junior Suite....and a bottle of red wine that I'll bet he had nooooo trouble polishing off , throwing down the chocolate balls in the glass for good measure.

It was a Junior Suite and I have to say it was very very nice. It is a great pity that almost 3 hours of my time in the room was spent on the phone to Telstra trying to sort out my 4g USB mobile broadband.....which ironically I wasn't actually trying to use at the hotel. (Actually I'm not sure it is ironical.)

So with all the delays on Sunday the friendly gentleman at the BNE J lounge got me onto a direct flight and I was home at approximately the same time I would've been with my connecting flights.

However, on my BP were the words 'Catering not assured'. They were highlighted with a pink highlighter so I knew that I may go hungry on the flight.

So what was the magnificent meal I might have missed out on? Three tiny crackers (about 2cm by 2cm) and some tiny scraps of meat. I left the olives in the plastic.

Fortunately I ate in lounge and was just happy to be aboard and getting home.

Is this writing on the BP something that happens automatically when your flight is changed?
