Travelling to USA with convictions

Hi, I was wondering if someone could give me a little guidance about the likelihood of my partner getting a visa to the USA. He was charged with 2 x contravene prohibition of avo (domestic) and stalk/intimidate intend fear of physical / mental harm and destroy or damage of property.
We have applied for the visa. But just wanting to know if it is a waste of our time.
