Weekend stay promotion

If anyone is or is going to register for this one be careful

I REGISTERED ON 24TH mARCH 2013 and on my offer page it says valid until 31st March 2014

I had a stay recently in KL and points did not post. I queried it and they said it had to be a stay within 90 days of registration

I argued that it showed a validity period of 12 months on my offer page to which they basically said that is the total time they are promoting the offer over but my validity is only 3 months from registration

I said none of the offers are like that and they have said NOTHING, not responding.

MY QUESTION for the experts.

If your not targeted for a promo and it does not work DONT question it, such action can and often does trigger an audit and closure of your account. Bonus points only ever pay on stays that earn points.

I was comfortable pursuing this one as I was handed a DL brochure at the Holiday Inn in Singapore and still have it and sent them a copy of the brochure otherwise I would have left it alone.

Its a non qualifying stay, bonus points only apply to qualifying stays, not stays where ancillary expenditure is credited.

I've found some of these bonus offers a little hard to find out what they want. I know markis10 did warn us not to trigger the start by registration too early and I know I've paid the price on two of the offers (which were for a 60 day duration rather than the more usual 90 days). When I click on the T&C link in for the particular offer in "My Offer Status" section of my account, nothing displays and the brief discription is far from encompassing. For example, I'm registered for a 5000point platinum bonus offer but it shows an expiration of 1 Mar 2014 (same as the Weekend Stay bonus queried on this thread). So is that the promo period or the time I have to make the stay? I don't know. I'm half assuming I need to make the stay within the more common 90 days period, like sumthinfornuthin has kindly pointed out is the actual requirement for the Weekend Stay bonus. I will be within the 90 days for both, so I hopefully will get them both.

I'm also unsure about the Ambassador Accelerator bonus which indicates I'm 30% there after 4 nights. It also tells me I need 11 more nights to the next award.....but fails to say what the next award is? Ambassador for 2014? 60% there? 90% there? I've no idea and once again the T&Cs are missing in action! I'm assuming that if 4 nights is 30% than 100% is no more than 14 nights and since I've already stayed 4 that would leave 10 to go not 11. If the actual requirement is 15 nights, then the 4 I've already stayed is really 27% not the 30% they claim.........or it may be an asymetrical scale which means I've absolutely no idea at all! Given I've got just 2 nights booked for the rest of the year, I'm unlikely to reach any of that one and I'll be renewing ambassador for $150 so it's all a little bit hypothetical anyway.

In any case, the point winfall we've been experiencing is very welcome and I'm not in the least complaining!

I have a feeling that the nights must be accumulated while you are a member regardless of whether you go into a new membership year. So as long as you retain membership you can earn your stays over 2 membership years

I also think you may need to be "temporarirly' residing in the USA to get these as well............that part is easy
