Advice from the Air Canada Experts

I have an AC fight in a few weeks YYZ to YQB and I am wondering if AC has a T-XX rule that opens seats to all and sundry like QF T-80.

The forward seats are blocked for selection on the AC website and I would expect as much as these would be reserved for AC and *A elites, I have zero status with AC or *A carrier (I would have if VA joined *A but I digress).

If they do open all seats T-XX many hours before the fight will this normally occur. I can see the forward seat are currently unoccupied in EF.

Why? I seem to recall Rooflyer knowing a bit about Air Canada and Aeroplan. I bumped the thread and also asked for change of sub-forum in the hope someone can answer.

I have indeed flown AC a lot, but usually only Business (and actually not much in the past 18 months), so I can't help with the T-XX question, sorry . Their system of 'upgrade certificates' means that there is a lot of seat juggling in the 4 days before departure (the upgrade window opens at different times for people of different status), so the T-XX window may be shorter than, say 80.

If I want the seats right up the front AC calls these preferred seats and you have to pay for them. 1 AC FF also was helpful stating that all the seats on a Q400 (the aircraft we are on) are all equally as coughpy. At least I have been pre warned.
