Hmm did you have a bad exchange rate? Somehow seemed to have paid $80 more than me.Just booked SQ J SIN-MEL on aeroplan points. SQ airfare = A$2,975. Cost of Aeroplan points (incl cash charge) = A$990.
Went back and bought some more!

Ditto, but with my 28 degree card. Bought a few more than that for an SQ trip to HKG and back - 2xJ tickets. I even found that by adding my PPS number on booking, I could immediately secure our favourite seats. Too easy.Well I also jumped in and purchased 100K + 125K bonus - paid with ANZ VISA card - points posted immediately.

Hi Matt. Did you succeed in buying points? I can't get the payment portal to accept any of my credit cards. I have the feelings it's not configured to recognize Australian billing addresses. Any tips?Yes, quite possibly!
With award flights available across the Star Alliance network, as well as Etihad (which has great availability) and VA for domestic connections, Aeroplan is now a really good option. No fuel surcharges either - just taxes and a CAD39 partner airline booking fee.
For example, it's 100,000 Aeroplan points for a business class award from Australia to Europe. 130,000 miles in F, e.g. flying Etihad.
With the current 100% bonus offer, it costs around $1,556 to buy 100,000 Aeroplan points or $2,023 to buy 130,000 points (that's in AUD). The annual purchase limit is 500,000 Aeroplan points, so that's not an issue. Some good value there, and the points are much easier to redeem on the Air Canada website than with LifeMiles where you often have to play screenshot roulette.
Any tricks to using a CBA card. I can't seem to get it to processsame here, paid with CBA card, points posted immediately - C$3,500 = A$3,813 each

My first attempt my card tried to deny it but after messing around a bit and assuring through app that it was indeed me, it went through fine.

You get all your points back. $150 cancellation fee. What is the fee for cancelling an award flight? Do you get all your points back? thanks
Sorry, just logged in now and saw your question. No trick in using the CBA ultimate card. We just entered the card details on AC website and got SMS from CBA with code, put in the code and the transaction was processed. Were you required a code from CBA to process the transaction? We logged into the CBA app after the payment went through to see how much A$ was charged.Any tricks to using a CBA card. I can't seem to get it to process
