High Season Surcharges: A surcharge of $100 per room per night applies for stays 1 June 2017 to 30 September 2017, payable directly to the resort.

We were going to book this, but as we are staying 5 nights, this deal added another $560.00 to the deal. Will add at least $300.00 to any others that are just staying 3 nights.

A lil outside of the CBD (can we really call it a CBD?), but it's a nice stroll from Ramada Suites to the main strip in July.

Careful on your walk back at night though. Might hit a freezing 18 degrees or so.

Darwin has been chosen for the 11th AFF Annual Gathering, as has the weekend of the 7 - 9 July 2017. The average temperature range for July is 19.3ºC to 30.6ºC, with a relative humidity of 37%. The average rainfall is 1.1mm. It is the smallest and most Northerly of Australia's capital cities.

As an early date has been chosen for Darwin next year to avoid the wet season, there is less than the standard time to prepare a schedule, however it is hoped some locals or frequent visitors to Darwin will raise their hand to secure a successful event.

I am only new to this so here goes.
I am a Darwin resident of 46 years, love to travel, cruise, fly or even train.

I volunteer with the Tourism Top End group for cruise ship passenger welcoming and with the Darwin Military Museum.
The Tourism Top End office is located in Bennett Street at the top end of the Smith Street Mall. The helpful team online or in person can book you or tell you where to go in Darwin.

I know this sounds a bit of a sales pitch but they have so much knowledge in the office that even I as a long time Territorian could not come close to filling you in on what to see and do for your short stay in Darwin.

It is true it is the dry season and the prices do go up but other than coming up here in the build up to the wet season in October, November it is the best time weather wise to visit. Why not extend your stay and visit Kakadu, Litchfield Park, Adelaide River jumping crocs. Don't miss the Defence of Darwin / Darwin Military Museum at East Point or visit the Northern Territory Library in Parliament House.

Would love to put my hand up to help out and no I will not be going to visit family down South in the cold at this time of year.

Julie at Tourism Top End or any of her staff will welcome contact from any planning to visit at this time.

Not sure where you generally hold your meetings but any of the Esplanade hotels have meeting rooms that can be hired.

Alternative maybe contact Darwin Public Library or Darwin City Council or Northern Territory Library (088999 7177) they maybe able to accommodate up to 50 people. I know Parliament House does charge for their meeting rooms and any catering has to be done by Speakers Corner cafe which is in Parliament House.

Hey cruiser60, the AFF dos do not have meetings as such.

The annual events are an opportunity to see a part of the country that we may not have visited before, with day trip somewhere on the Saturday. There is usually a casual drinks/dinner on the Friday night with dinner on Saturday night a bit more structured with a guest speaker.

Further to my previous post have sent a message to my boss at Tourism Top End and her response was:

We do have member discounts through restaurants and tours through our website if they are interested in joining (no fees – just get a product code to go online) and may be 10% off at a restaurant or free glass of wine etc.

Tours I can assist also, but would need to have a contact for the group if they need please don’t hesitate to let the guys know.

So you would need one person of contact to arrange with our marketing manager - contact Janine Fidock in marketing at Tourism Top End for “Welcome to Darwin Delegates” for their product code and booking information.
