Out of my way as flying from 7am Adelaide - Sydney - DPS today. Currently in a very peaceful F lounge in Sydney starting to read it. Kindle on IPad so much better for travel but you can't show the cover. And MrP and I can read it together and comment appropriately.

I was going to buy it anyway. But I do agree with you that this level of publicity must be helping sales. I hope the publicity also shines enough light on the kinds of freebies politicians and public servants are getting from Qantas (and other powerful lobbyists) that it ultimately leads to some positive changes.

Whether or not it’s true it’s marketing genius.

Most (non FFs) think Joyce is old news and it wouldn’t have got much of a mention on mainstream media. Now he’s had a week of free publicity on every news program.

Pretty smart.

I had the thought yesterday on seeing this that this was heading down a similar path to the whole citizenship debacle a few years ago

Instead of poring over genealogy records, they'll be looking through Facebook photos at where in the cabin MPs were sitting in their recent holiday snaps

I’ve just read the chapter on the illegal sackings matter and the subsequent Cabin crew enterprise bargaining shenanigans with . Lots of court transcripts and lots of quotes from the people involved.

Sad and shocking at the same time.

And yet the board members didn’t take a hit at the AGM despite agreeing to all this. Go figure. Puts a few upgrades into context of responsibility.

The entire AWU sackings thing was to take the 'decision' away from Joyce, and delegate it to those below, by mans of questionable mechanisms ("Hey, wasn't me!!"). Justice Lee took a number of Qantas execs to task for their testimony and Senior Counsel Finch looks very bad in the book. There is a lot more here than was reported in the media at the time.

Its a ripper read.
