Air Niugini

Eligible Qantas passengers may use Air Niugini lounge at POM, whether flying QF or PX international services. Looks like Air Niugini eligible members get to use NZ lounge in SYD and BNE, not QF lounges. Is this right or have there been recent changes?

I will find out tomorrow when I attempt to access the PX lounge at POM, as a QF SG, on a PX ticket and PX flight. Seems overly generous for QF to have an arrangement such as described, so I’m expecting to be turned away.

Also, I’d note that on my flight up CNS-POM, there were only 19 pax on the F100: doesn’t seem sustainable if that is representative of loads.

I still don’t really understand how I’m allowed entry, seeing as I have a PX ticket POM-BNE, on a PX (B767-300 ) flight. I can only guess that QF and PX must be doing a ‘you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours’ kind of deal.

I have a barista staff member made cappuccino and if I haven’t already eaten breakfast this morning, some grazing plates to choose from. And a beer fridge if that’s your thing at 0930. Now, what to waste my remaining PGK20 on: for fridge magnet, some highland coffee beans???

Am I right to assume that you've been given entry into the PX lounge at POM because you're a PX passenger? What am I missing here?

I'm guessing that the lighter loads could be related to the slow post-Coviddy giddy up, or might there be other factors involved? What are tourist numbers like these days? I wonder if they've gone up or down in recent years.
