Are Qantas A380's still grounded?

I'm flying out from Sydney on July 28th to LA on Flight QF11, and was advised it would be on an A380, but it now says a 747-400...
I booked this so I could go out on an A380... what would be reasons it's changed? Can it change again?

Interestingly there are no A380s scheduled from 23/24th through to the 28th to LAX from either SYD or MEL but QF31 appears normal on the kangaroo route.

Same has happened to us for our departure this Sunday on QF11. I did ask Qantas and they just gave the standard "aircraft change for operational reasons" response. Not sure what is happening, just hope it's an A380 on the way back in August as currently listed.

Yeh, my travel agent specified to me that Qantas fly the A380's to LAX on Tuesdays from Sydney.
As I was wanting the power outlets on the standard economy seats

My Flight back to Melbourne on August 24th from LAX is still listed as an A380, so I hope mine stays the same too.

Landing in SYD yesterday around 9ish I think , QF 380 taxiing, Emirates 380 being pushed back and SIN 380 being cleaned (or whatever they do), impressive....

Y = Economy class
W = premium Economy class
J = Business class
F = First Class

There are further sub-classes within each of the above as far as tickets go but the above are the different call of cabins on Qantas (and many other) A380s and 747s.

According to seatguru.com there is power and USB in all economy seats (though I have not flown on this plane, so cannot attest to it personally).

Just asked my husband who works at Q and he didn't know they were grounded but did say there were issues with them....he wouldn't fly in one atm put it that way.

They are not grounded. The reason for the change in the OP's operating aircraft was due to a delay in the arrival of the 4th A380.

I would beg to differ, as previously posted, there is no A380's on the LA route from both SyD/MEL for a number of days which is more than the impact of a single airframe delay.

THE QANTAS Airbus A380 filmed aborting a landing at London's Heathrow Airport performed the go around at 1900 feet because of a coughpit steering system fault message
Qantas said today there was no safety issue on the QF31 operating from Singapore on Saturday
The airline said the aircraft's captain requested priority clearance to land as a precaution but an investigation subsequently found there was no steering fault.
There was no safety issue at any time," a spokeswoman said.

"The issue was quickly rectified, within 80 minutes, and the aircraft operated the return QF32 London to Sydney via Singapore the same day."

Out of interest does your husband actually know anything about appropriate maintenance of aircraft that would lead to a critical assessment of the air worthiness of Airbuses? Or is it just mindless speculation based on a small number of media reports?

Do you know how many Airbuses are flying right now or have flown today without incident?

The is the sort of spurious mindless speculation that just scares people and enforces prejudices.
