On Konstas think he played his role. The others in the opening four are always slow starters, as was Marsh, so needed someone to set a good pace this morning, such was the pitch.

From speaking to a Dad whose son played against and with him in rep teams over the past few years, commented that he was super mild mannered, and it was probably more a planned reaction to the Indians - as a young debutant he was always going to get it from them.

Think Marsh is well and truly done. Will be interesting to see what they do for Sri Lanka if Green is fit

Until an Umpire responds then jury is out. This is so far just media speak and doesn't count. I did check on Lords website the other day and this isn't specifically mentioned in fielding. Indeed it focuses on player obstruction of various means and not extra personnel.

If it is against the rules then the Unpires failed in their responsibility.

If you are concerned that it's cheating then why didn't you comment on this back in November? The media did.

After the BB then Sheffield Shield cricket resumes. Usual cricket season ends in March but these days AFL fixtures seem to take over prime cricket ovals before the season has finished. I believe that starts in late Feb or early March.

Define season.

The Mens test team is in Sri Lanka from late January - 1st test starts 29 Jan.

Domestic Big Bash final is 27 Jan, but the Shield Final is in late March.

Women's Ashes starts next week and continues into Feb.

And Damien Martyn was dropped for years following that match with the blame for the loss placed entirely on his shoulders. The same treatment doesn't seem to be afforded to players these days. Maybe it's because we just don't have the replacement stocks we had back then.

A series win can mask deeper issues and our top order is still pretty fragile. We don't need another Warner - anyone can fling the bat, and we don't want to play "Bazball" - so I don't see Konstas' approach as something to get too excited about.

The selectors have two big problems - an embarrassment of riches of bowlers and all-rounders, and a very shallow pool of batting talent.
